Working on a new shadowfiend macro to deal with 2.1 bugs. The priest forum has a slightly more polished version of the macro I coded last night for Mechanar.

Code:
#show Shadowfiend
/cast [nopet] Shadowfiend
/petattack [pet,harm][pet,target=targettarget,harm]
/petaggressive

It's not clear if the petaggressive change is a good idea or bad, so you may want to leave it out for now. You have to spam this macro because sometimes the /petattack command is issued before the shadowfiend zones in.

I may have posted this before but warriors are going to need this macro.

Especially if you intend to hold agro against our casters

Tip: You are a warrior, you are protection, or prot/hybrid. You have assy blues in most spots, and some OK blues in other spots. You have 490 defense so you can't be crit. You have over 10k health unbuffed. You feel like you can tank pretty good.

You are wrong.

The cloth-nukers in our guild are almost all tailors. They have access to gear that is better than T4, and on par with T5 raiding gear. They can craft this crap solo, or with a handful of heroic dungeons for nethers. They put out boggling DPS. Which means they put out boggling threat.

So how do you hold agro with your 60 dps weapon?

Code:
#show Shield Slam
/cast Shield Slam
/cast Heroic Strike
/startattack

Double-tap this to Shield Slam, and queue up an HS for your next auto-attack, and re-tap it to keep queing up HS's as long as you have rage to burn. It will show you shield slam's cooldown on the button, and light up when/if you have enough rage to Slam again.

If you don't have shield slam, replace Shield Slam with Sunder Armor, and pray. In a dual-tanking situation, the warrior with Shield Slam should be on the high-threat-kill-first mob, and the OT/no-slam should be on a later-killed mob so he has plenty of time to spam Sunder/HS.

If I have enough rage to really work it, I can often peel agro off somebody without taunting by queueing up HS's with a fast weapon. This macro makes it EZ to do so.

I also use a macro for Thunderclap, use the ? icon for the macro
Code:
/castsequence [reset=4] Thunder Clap, Demoralizing Shout
With those two macros you recover 2 of the 12 spots on your hotbar for everything else you need to do.

Oh, and Improved TC generates more threat than Sunder Armor, and buys time for big heals to land. It should always be up.

A Better Shadowfiend Macro

I now use this:

Code:
#show Shadowfiend
/cast [nopet,harm][nopet,target=targettarget,harm] Shadowfiend
/petaggressive
/petattack [harm][pet,target=targettarget,harm]

It fixes a problem in the previous macro. Also, you shouldn't need to spam it any longer, as of a recent patch.

The Perfect Mount Macro (Not for use in World PvP)

If you just want to get around and don't need maximum speed (unless you have a very fast flying mount, in which case go DIAF) you can use this macro to save some space on your button bar:

Code:
/use [nomounted,flyable] Tawny Windrider
/use [nomounted,noflyable] Purple Skeletal Warhorse
/dismount [mounted]

Replace "Tawny Windrider" and "Purple Skeletal Warhorse" with the names of your flying and terrestrial mounts. You can ue it to mount and unmount. As far as I can tell, without errors or situations where you get off your mount and suddenly start getting on again.

Lazred's Raid DPS Macro

See previous page. This is my first raid macro, timed out to maximize VE/VT returns (not to maximize actual Damage. Not that it stops me from doing a lot of that....). This macro assumes I have +damage trinkets in both trink slots. Only one will activate at a time, but they will activate as frequently as possible.

From reading the macro docs, this macro should not work. But it does.

Code:
/use 14
/use 13
/castsequence [nochanneling] reset=target Vampiric Touch,Vampiric Embrace,Shadow Word: Pain,Mind Blast,Mind Flay,Mind Flay,Mind Blast,Vampiric Touch,Mind Flay,Mind Blast,Mind Flay,Mind Flay,Mind Flay

The "nochanneling" conditional means I can spam it while Mind Flaying and I won't lose the last tick of damage. Yes. I said Spamming. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Lazred's Fade Macro

I ground shroom-men for a potion recipe that reduces threat. They work well, but they are a bit expensive to make. So I want a panic macro I can punch that will try fade first, then fall back to the potions. If you don't carry potions, but you have a no-threat trinket then you could adapt the macro accordingly.

Code:
/castsequence reset=30 Fade, Shrouding Potion

Thanks a ton Laz for posting that shackle macro. I converted it to a sheep macro and gave it a quick spin around Terrokar. Awesome! This should really help out in SSC. I recommend this to all the mages. It allows you to DPS the raid's target and when you click the macro, it resheeps without switching off the DPS target. MACHO!

That macro was battle-tested on Moroes. Same deal -- gotta run all over the place, but keep my dude on ice the whole time.

Macro for setting focus and banishing when you left-click, and banishing the focus target with a right-click.

Code:
/focus [button:1]
/cast [button:1] Banish [button:2,target=focus] Banish

The More Perfect Mount Macro

Lazred wrote:

If you just want to get around and don't need maximum speed (unless you have a very fast flying mount, in which case go DIAF) you can use this macro to save some space on your button bar:

Code:
/use [nomounted,flyable] Tawny Windrider
/use [nomounted,noflyable] Purple Skeletal Warhorse
/dismount [mounted]

This stopped working for me, probably because I threw away the little inventory tokens for my mount. So I finally got around to fixing this for WotLK:

Code:
/run if IsMounted() then Dismount(); else CallCompanion("MOUNT", 3); CallCompanion("MOUNT", 2); end

Replace the "3" with the slot number in your Mount UI (left to right, starting at 1) for your flying mount; replace the "2" with the slot number of your non-flying mount.

If you're mounted, you will dismount. Otherwise, the game will try a flying mount; if that works, you'll see an error saying "Another Action Is In Progress", but ignore that. Otherwise you'll see an error saying "You can't use that here", and chances are you'll start mounting your horse instead. The errors can be suppressed somehow, I forget how.

Cheesy mount addon: GoGoMount

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... mount.aspx

One-key mounting solution, useful whether you have just one mount or several.
Supports all mounts currently in game, sensibly chooses/randomizes between what you have.
Bind a key and hit it to mount/unmount or shapeshift/deshift, or use '/click GoGoButton' in a macro.

(oh, there's a gogopet too, if you're into that kinda thing)

I think I'll stick with the macro. Less likely to break on patch day.

The 'random mount' feature is kinda nice if you like mixin' it up.
